About Us

Upton-upon-Severn’s amateur dramatics company, The Pepperpot Players, was first established by Martin Harker and Roger Corbett Milward in 1976, when a three-strong cast performed Anton Chekhov’s ‘The Proposal’ in the Upton Church Rooms.

The Players, whose plays, musicals, cabarets and pantomimes have been entertaining generations of audiences ever since, are now a very familiar and popular part of the community. Upton’s Memorial Hall is now our regular home, and is the venue for our evening rehearsals and the three major productions that we stage each year. You can see Posters and archive pictures from some of our Previous Productions on this website.

Our members come from Upton and the surrounding areas, and the group’s productions are regularly supported both by local people and visitors to Upton. We value the generosity of our Patrons and of our Sponsors - local individuals, shops and businesses who support the group in so many ways.

Over the years we have given significant donations to many local charities. Recent contributions include those made to Upton Community Care, the Royal British Legion, SARA River Patrol and a community de-fibrillator. We have held benefit evenings for Upton in Bloom and St Richard’s Hospice, and our special charity production of ‘Nunsense’ made over £3,000 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.

Our extensive membership includes all ages, and we are always happy to welcome new members into the group. Audition and performance dates of forthcoming shows are published in our programmes and on our website. Click Join Us to find out how you can become involved either on or off-stage, or Contact Us if you would like more details – we’d love to see you!
